On Friday May 5^th at 11:14am EST, we will experience a full Moon lunar eclipse in Scorpio. That means some big shake ups are coming our way—but you don’t have to be scared! We have your back with the best crystals and a thorough explanation of this eclipse’s wild energy.

What is a Lunar Eclipse?

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon’s orbit leads it to pass through the Earth’s shadow. During lunar eclipses, the Earth blocks most of the visible spectrum of light, but some red light gets through. This unique effect gives the Moon a red-orange glow.

There are two types of lunar eclipses, depending on how far the Moon passes into the Earth’s shadow. When the Moon passes into the inner part of the Earth’s shadow (the umbra), it is called an umbral eclipse, and when it passes into the outer part of the shadow (the penumbra), it is called a penumbral eclipse.

This month’s lunar eclipse will be a penumbral eclipse; however, it will just miss the umbra. That makes the May 2023 eclipse the deepest penumbral eclipse for the next twenty years!

What is the Spiritual Meaning of a Lunar Eclipse?

Think of a lunar eclipse like a door. It is a passageway to a new you—which is exciting, but also scary. The red Moon encourages you to view your life from a new perspective, and it also sheds light on anything that you have been avoiding.

While Beltane may feel far away from our modern society, May Day celebrations were commonplace in America well into the 20^th century.

May’s spiritual energy is all about creativity, but what about co-creativity? Let’s dive into the process of co-creation and how crystals can help!

What is Co-Creation?

Co-creation means working with the universe to achieve the highest good. Co-creation is a practice through which you take action to achieve your best, most abundant life.

Do you know someone who always says that they’re going to “leave it to the universe,” but then they don’t do anything else? For example, is your friend desperate for a romantic partner, but they don’t ever go on dates? That’s not co-creation—that’s being lazy! Co-creation is all about meeting the universe halfway.

How Can I Co-Create?

Co-creation starts with some serious introspection. What are you passionate about? What do you really want to do with your life? Think broadly here. Your passion isn’t getting a promotion; instead, think of what that promotion would enable you to do: help others, explore the world, learn more, etc.

Once you’ve identified your passion or life purpose, then you have to orient your mindset to co-creation. The first step is releasing your fear and approaching everything from a perspective of divine love. Assume that the universe wants the best for you and that, no matter what happens, you will land on your feet and learn something along the way. When you operate from fear, you are likely to place limitations on yourself, consciously or subconsciously. Instead, operate from love. It’s a high-frequency emotion with the possibility to create.

Now, it’s time to act. Break down your goals into smaller chunks and take action. If you take one step, the universe will take the next. As you act, listen to your intuition. Do you feel a special pull to go somewhere or talk to someone? Follow that instinct! It could be the universe guiding you.
